Saugatuck 2007

The Lord shows and flaunts his power and strength in so many amazing ways, some obvious and some other ways are symbolized in our natural surroundings. On this brief weekend in Saugatuck, Michigan, the Lord was seen so clearly in the beauty of the crashing waves, the rising and setting of the sun, and even the clouds suspended above the glorious landscape. God made it so easy for his people to see him and his greatness in nature, especially in Saugatuck. No matter where anyone was in their faith or what other things were distracting them in the past week, every single person was completely captivated and struck by the stunning and radiant beauty of the scenery that christ created out of nothing. His power was portrayed in people as well, as the junior leaders and adult leaders led in worship and devotions. Each and every word they spoke was like music to our ears that helped us grow in our faith. The quiet and calm atmosphere made for the perfect place to really listen for God's voice, and to see what he had to say. So many times people find themselves falling in their faith but they don't know why. Half the time it is because they have a one way relationship with Christ. They may talk and pray all they want, but no matter how often they do that, they will never have a more intimate relationship with him if they don't listen to him as well. Saugatuck was the perfect place to let your fears go, place them directly into God's hands, and truly take in the words he has to say for you. Automatically loads were taken off and you could see relaxed faces as they put their trust in our almighty God. Nothing can compare to him, and no place could be better to get submerged into the deep seas of our Lord's grace and love for us.
